Haptonomy

Haptonomy is the theory on which haptotherapy is based, developed by Frans Veldman sr during the 1950’s. Haptonomy is about acknowledging, developing and accepting the emotional life and putting it into words. Our body stores all experiences and emotions – positive and negative. If those negative experiences remain unprocessed, they can externalise in the form of symptoms, ailments and feelings of discomfort.

A prerequisite of connecting to our emotional life is being in touch with our body. Positive emotional experiences make us relaxed and flexible and therefore pave the way for healing.
